The Primping Place Spa, Stamford’s “Mecca” for Skin Care, Electrolysis and Wellness, announces its Fall 2009 Open House. The event is set to take place on Saturday, October 24, 2009 from 11:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. Guests will benefit from the following exclusive treatments:

The Primping Place Spa will donate 10% of the proceeds from this event to the American Parkinson Disease Association in honor of one of our colleague’s mother, who passed away last spring.
New Green Interior Design
The Primping Place Spa offers a newly, eco-friendly treatment room designed by Beth Keating. The space was decorated with the health of our clients and the health of our planet in mind. We have chosen natural and renewable materials in a soft palate to create a relaxing atmosphere that is in tone with nature.
For the paint, we used Benjamin Moore’s VOC Free Natura Paint, custom color. The blinds are made of natural bamboo, the world’s fastest growing plant and a highly renewable resource.
Cotton, a renewable resource used for textiles for seven thousand years, was the fabric chosen for the drapes.
The chairs were made of Banana Fibers and Rattan, both renewable resources that reduce the amount of timber consumed.
To cleanse the air and provide oxygen, Philodendrums – recognized by N.A.S.A. among the best house plants for removing formaldehyde from the air – were selected as the air cleansing plant for the room.

New Therapist and Massage Hours
Massage therapist Pia Valkonen, formerly working for Joyti Yoga Studio in Stamford, CT, has joined The Primping Place. Pia will be offering therapies starting at 8:00 A.M including Sundays.
